March 2010 The quilt was produced to commemorate the 75th birthday of the Liberal Catholic Church. It was put together through the inspiration and hard work of Julie de Jonge in Sydney. Julie's husband, Coen, was a highly-regarded priest of the Church for many years; he also gave yoga classes at Blavatsky Lodge of the Theosophical Society in Sydney.
It was housed for a long time at St Albans, Stanley St, Sydney, but when that church was closed in August last year, the quilt was brought to Brisbane. It was cleaned by the efforts of Heather Preston and hung in the social room at St Albans, Wickham Terrace. It's nice to think it's now in a church named for the same saint as the one in Sydney.
